He trained at GSMC and KEM Hospital, Mumbai, and holds a long-term fellowship in Comprehensive Ophthalmology at the L.V. Prasad Eye Institute (LVPEI), Hyderabad — one of India's premier centres for advanced eye care.

He is an invited speaker at the national level for imparting skills in Glaucoma and Advanced Cataract Surgery, and is known among patients for taking the time to explain every diagnosis in plain language — a philosophy passed down from the hospital's founding in 1971 and one he continues to apply personally in every consultation.
